New co-promotion agreement with Salesconx.[11]

This is a fascinating new idea which we're really keen to use ourselves.

At Salesconx you can buy top quality sales leads from professionals, and if you know of somebody wanting something you can't supply, you can sell the lead as well. We'll be reporting more as we find out about it, but if this is half as good as it promises Salesconx might set the world on fire.

Also check out Salesgravy [12] which is the best (by a mile) sales and marketing forum I've come across.

We've just implemented Front Office Box Forum - see the link in the Portals table above. There's not much in it just yet of course. We hope you'll join in with posts and discussions on anything interesting.

The Forum is another piece of our Web 2.0 for Businesses strategy - applications, wiki, forum - next up is Links.

We actively encourage users to promote their businesses so feel free to let everybody know what you can do for them, and why you're good at it see the Directory category.

We also encourage users to ask others for information, help and advice - see the Answers category.

And for a bit of fun, we encourage users to let off steam - see the Rants category.

Working with Outlook

We're considering a number of vertical market solutions, some of which will require us to work more closely with Outlook.

Up until now we've chosen to confront other challenges. Now it seems we've got at least a picture of how to get over those.

We've also managed to get our hands on a copy of Office 2007 which includes a more compliant version of Outlook.

So, over the next few weeks we'll be researching (trying out for ourselves) how to get the most out of a combination of Front Office Box and Outlook.

We're keen to get as much help as we can with this so, if you're an Outlook user and want to help, please send us an email at support@frontofficebox.us.

Next Phase of Development

Through April and May we'll be building some additions to Front Office Box.

These will make it even more useful, with additional functionality.

Formal launch of Ambassador program

We're formalizing our Ambassador program with special benefits for people helping us to build our business.

Now is the appropriate time for us to get it organized.

In April and May we're building new functionality into Front Office Box. This will complete our plans for both collaboration and sales management. After this release we'll begin charging for our software as as service, and free accounts won't be available except for a 30 day trial period.

Our Ambassadors are entitled to:

  • a free 5 user account, for ever
  • invite people they do business with to take up Ambassador membership
  • participate in our development plans and
  • previews of new software before general release.

All we ask in return is they:

  • use our software
  • help us understand how to make it even more valuable to our smaller business users
  • support us in promoting the service and the community which will grow around it.

Front Office Box Actions in your Outlook

We finally got hold of a copy of Outlook 2007 and can confirm Microsoft finally caught up with the iCal standard.

Typically, it isn't easy to find but it is there. Outlook 2007 lets you create copies of iCal calendars. We publish Front Office Box Actions to iCal addresses - you can find yours under Manage My Account. In Outlook subscribe to this calendar address and your Actions will show up in your copy of the iCalendar.

Now you can take your Actions with you, whether you're on-line or not.

The only downside for Outlook 2003 users is the $400 upgrade price - sorry, we can't do anything about that.

Demo of Pipeline Management using Tags

Any user interested in managing sales opportunities should be interested in Pipeline Management, both the concept - how and why it works - and how we should build it into Front Office Box.

Here's your chance to contribute your ideas. We're really keen to get as much input as we can before we make some decisions about what to build in to FOB, and when. So please post to Knowledgebase, or email or even phone us to tell us what would suit you best.

Follow this link to the main article - please post your comments - click the discussion tab then the + tab.

Introducing the Bulletin Board

Here's where the team at Front Office Box will make announcements.

BUT it's not just for us - it's for all our users.

If you have something to say, advertise, want help or have a question you think somebody might be able to help with - post your note here.

The page is "protected" so only people with an account will be able to post here.

It will take us a couple of days to get done, but we'll create wiki accounts for all FOB users, and from then on we'll create a wiki account for everybody we register for Front Office Box.
