Are you a business owner like us?

We’re a small bunch of guys open to helping business owners like us, and getting a helping hand when we need it. We’re professionals, most with decades of experience, and we’re sales managers. Not ordinary sales managers, but business owner sales managers. Some, not many, have professional sales history, but most just have to do it because that’s the life blood of the business – managing sales without sacrificing everything else.

If you are a business owner like us we’d love to meet you, on-line at least, and maybe swap ideas, information or connections.

How will you know you are a business owner like us? Read on and see if you fit the profile.

You Are An Achiever

“I’d rather be a pirate than join the Navy” is a quote attributed to Steve Jobs, in my book the most impressive innovator of the 20th Century.

“The reason they want you to fit in is that way they can forget you” was posted by Seth Godin recently, and will likely replace my previous favourite.

If these two phrases resonate, you’ll likely be an owner manager, or wanting to start out on your own. You just won’t be comfortable going along to get along. You won’t be happy limited to what others want you to achieve. You won’t agree with the way they like to do things.

You are an achiever, while they are simply survivors! And everything we write in this, and our other blog, is written for people like you.

You Have Opportunities

Everyday, achievers are setting up their own businesses as way of escaping the corporate cage. Boomers past their sell by date, mothers (or fathers) preferring to work at home, and Gen Yers preferring “computing” to “commuting” are all doing it. They’ve have skills, experience, ambition which others want to contract in, and are prepared to pay premium rates for the privilege.

While the big corporations are in trouble, with markets no longer believing the hype, micro businesses are all the rage. With lower overheads, focus on innovation, commitment to service and the ability to make decisions fast the smaller guys do a better job at lower cost. Every market wants to hire the man, without paying for the corporation.

You Have the Abilities

With the Internet levelling the playing field in terms of access and delivery, the smaller guys can compete with their ideas, rather than their marketing. It’s also providing support services the corporates hire departments to deliver, and doing it for free or close to it.

Small business can act like big businesses, being both global and local, with web sites as store fronts, with services replacing bean counters. and with partners instead of supply chains.

You Are Open for Business

Open to collaboration, mutual support, selling, buying, referencing, networking – anything that increases opportunity and reduces costs

So are you a business owner like us? If so leave a comment and we’ll get in touch with some ideas on creating a genuine bullshit free business zone.
