Small Business Goes Global

In business the question “where are you based” used to be fundamental. Being local meant buyer and seller could meet across a desk. Products and services could easily, and cheaply be supplied. References could be checked.

Being “somewhere” meant quite a lot – but not anymore. The Internet has changed all that.

Our small business is a perfect example and today something happened to make me want to share what the Internet has enabled us to do.

We have a global supply chain and a global customer base. Our business is based in Chicago and we manage it from our home by the 1st tee of the finest golf club in the world, in the Scottish Highlands. We host our software in Dallas, managed by a business in New Zealand. Our designer is in North Carolina and our developers are in Winnipeg. Does this spread impact our service? Since January 2007 we’ve achieved 99.93% uptime so the answer is NO.

Our customer base is global too. This morning we completed the final piece in our jigsaw map with a registration from Saudi Arabia.

We’re now proud to announce the global spread of Front Office Box users and list the following 25 countries:

    Australia
    Belgium
    Brazil
    Canada
    China
    Czech Republic
    Denmark
    Finland
    Hong Kong
    India
    Ireland
    Kenya
    Korea
    Luxembourg
    Maldives
    Mozambique
    Portugal
    Russia
    Saudi Arabia
    Sweden
    Tanzania
    Thailand
    Ukraine
    UK
    USA

We’re a Global SME :-)
