Once in a while, and increasingly frequent, things come along that help clarify what’s going on with the Business Internet.
More often than not these fit in with strategies and tactics for selling. Not surprisingly, because the Business Internet is now a lot to do with influencing people, and that’s what selling is, or should be.
A couple of weeks ago we published Selling By Keeping My Mouth Shut – the main point being sales guys who don’t really understand what they’re talking about should stay quiet. It’s better to be thought a fool than to say something that proves it.
In Knowledgebase I just posted a video of Mr. Google, Matt Cutts, explaining about blogs and search engines.
This is a “must watch” for anybody wanting to be engaged in the Business Internet, and a lot of fun for those who don’t.
But the point of this post is Matt’s lessons for SEO apply to us all even when we’re selling face to face.
Talk about stuff you know and influence people. If you don’t really know about something ask questions.
Fake It, till you Make It don’t work anymore.
